FS (ex DB) 220.011 at
Sermide with train "Directo" 3008 on the morning service from Ferrara. The ex
Deutsche Bundesbahn Loco was one of three owned by the FSF railway, and at that time were

DB 220.048 and
220.026 stand at Lübeck on train E3025 to Hamburg Hbf, the 09:38 departure was a regular
turn for a pair of 220's in the Winter timetable of 1983. Both Locos were based at
Lübeck, most of their work being between Hamburg and Cuxhaven, and of course Lübeck.

DB 220.031 at is seen at Lüneburg on an afternoon train to Lübeck and
Kiel. Formerly an Oldenburg allocated loco, it was among a number of 220's that were moved

DB 220.063 is seen at Wilhelmshaven on an early morning train to
Oldenburg, Bremen and
Bielefeld. The morning sun is starting to rise giving a beautiful effect to the clouds.

DB German Railways V200 hydraulic loco 220.074 stands opposite the
platforms at Bremerhaven Hbf, prior to working train 2539 to Cuxhaven. The Diesel will
replace an electric locomotive for the last 44km's. One of the Locos that was based at
Lübeck, in the final days of their use, only based

OSE 411 (ex DB
221.105) is seen at Lianokladi on train 500, the northbound express to Thessaloniki. This
was the only ex DB 221 to retain the proper DB livery, and looks good, especially as the
two front carriages are in proper DB livery was well. Photo taken on 16th

RENFE 340.010 is seen coming off the depot at Ciudad Real in preparation
to work a small freight towards Puertollano. The big 4000hp German built Hydraulic Locos,
fitted with twin Maybach MD870 power units. The class finished work in the late 1980's, a

RENFE 340.015, 340.010,and 340.007 are stabled at the depot at Ciudad
Real. Loco's could be found at this time in the Puertollano, Ciudad Real and Madrid Atocha

class were in 1981, with the Madrid Chamartín - Valencia "Correo" (Postal)

JZ, Yugoslavian
ML2200's 761.001 and 76.002 are seen dumped at Subotica in 1998. Built for hauling Tito's
military train, replaced by the GM built class 666 Locos in mid 1980's. Formerly D66.001 -
003, and named "Dinara", "Kozara" and "Suteska". Photo by

ML2200 761.003 is seen dumped at Subotica on 18th July 1998. It is hoped that one day this
Loco may be returned to running condition. Built by Krauss Maffei, shipped to JZ in May

An ex DB 220 in Saudi
Arabia, formerly a "Heitkamp" Loco, seen here in "Archirodon"
ownership. 220.021, 220.024, 220.046, 220.054 and 220.069 were all send to Saudi in about
1978. |

Four ex DB 220's sold
to a French contractor 220.030 - V2204, 220.037 - V2203, 220.068 - V2201 and 220.075 -
V2202. All seen at Marseille about to be shipped to Algerian for construction traffic
work. Since returned to France and scrapped! |

Ex DB 220.048 is seen
at the Regentalbahn after an overhaul. Shown in a very handsome dark blue livery, it is
believed this Loco was then sold to a contractor in Algeria. |

Krauss Maffei built
ML4000 destined for the US market seen on test in Austria on the Semmering route. Fitted
with twin Maybach MD870 engines. Six constructed in this bodyshell, for Southern Pacific
and Rio Grande. A US style hood bodyshell order followed for SP, and also a narrow gauge
version for Brazil! |
